Okay – I admit it – I’ve been missing in action. The last Innovation Insights Newsletter went out many months ago. And although I may not have a good excuse for my absence, I do have a good reason.
It all started well over a year ago. There I was, doing my own thing, settling into my life as a single mom with two amazing children and a business that I adore when Boom! Love walked into my life. And not just any love. The love of a lifetime. The kind of love that we all want to believe in, but we’re never really sure that we do.
Well, all of a sudden, there it was, staring me right in the heart. So I did what any reasonable and rational person would have done in the same set of circumstances. I ran. I ran far and I ran fast.
But love ran faster and before I knew it, I was surrounded. Resistance was futile. (Thank goodness!)
In just a few short months my life had been turned inside out and upside down. All for the better or course but inside out and upside down nonetheless. Love is a powerful motivator. Unfortunately, it wasn’t exactly motivating me to sit down and write my next Innovation Insights!
As luck would have it my new life partner Gerry was also destined to become my new business partner (officially my D.O.W. or Director of Wow). So as the smoke – or should I say steam – began to settle, we got down to the serious business of business – the task of updating our Innovation Advantage platform for 2010 and beyond. New website, new promo video, new marketing materials – the whole nine yards. And all of this while I traveled around the continent speaking to my favourite audiences – people just like you. Bottom line? It all took much more time than we had anticipated – another reason for my extended absence.
Today, however, I am proud to say that this issue of Innovation Insights is dedicated to officially launching some of the great new initiatives that we have specifically designed to help you use strategic innovation to attract, keep and engage more customers. And there are still many more to come over the next few months.
First, be sure to check out our new website and new promo video at www,toninewman.com. And while you’re there, make sure you pay a visit to the Strategic Innovation Programs page at Strategic Innovation Programs so that you can find out about the new content rich, results focused programs that we have to offer. We are committed to helping you turn more ideas into more results in 2010 and these new programs are designed to do just that.
We worked very hard on the new site and are thrilled to be able to announce that it was recently named the winner of the Best Speaking Expert Website Contest by Jane Atkinson, author of The Wealthy Speaker. You can read Jane’s comments about our site at speakerlauncher.com/blog/.
Now, putting together the new website was one thing. Getting our heads around this whole social media revolution, however, was something else entirely. Newsletter or no newsletter. To blog or not to blog. Those were the questions. So here is what we have decided.
Moving forward, the Innovation Insights newsletter will come out on the second Tuesday of every month. The goal of the newsletter will be to continue to provide you with valuable information and insight in longer article form. Articles that include concrete models that you can put to work right away in your business or organization so that you can turn more ideas into more of the results that you have been looking for. Check out these examples of high impact models that have appeared in past Innovation Insights newsletters. The Five S’s of Sustainable Strategic Innovation; The Four T’s of the Curiosity Commitment; and How T.R.E.E.S. can help you put Strategic Innovation to work in your organization.
To keep Innovation Insights company, I’m also starting a blog that will come out more frequently than the newsletter. Think of it as a way for me to share all of those random reviews, reflections and occasional rants that may or may not have to do with strategic innovation but that come from the heart and are, at the very least, the stuff that compelling conversations are made of. Short posts – long posts – two a day – two a month – who knows? The goal is to create a community of catalysts who have the courage to create, the passion to provoke, and the determination to discover. Sign up here now to get email notification of new blog postings. Your next big idea may well depend on it.
And, of course, you can tweet me on Twitter, find me on Facebook or learn about me on LinkedIn. Whatever works for you, works for me. But you can be sure of one thing. I’m back. I’m ready. And I won’t be going missing in action again anytime soon!
Now let’s all get busy and Imagine the Possibilities!
